WALLCOVER® Best choice
A wallpaper with colourful circles, big points, or round geometric patterns: This reminds immediately of the wallpaper designs of the 1970s. Those are very much in fashion again after a certain recovery time that each style needs before a comeback. But not every wallpaper showing circles or points belongs to the retro wallpaper. In the country-house style especially small points and circular patterns are popular. Its timeless look suits both ancient and modern, bright and dark furniture alike and is not subject to fashion fluctuations.
Point or dots on the wallpaper, circles in various colours, in black-and-white or as intricate circular and spiral structures: in our wallpaper shop you will find romantic and geometrical, gaudy and elegant, soft and hard contrasting wallpaper patterns. We offer paper, natural, fabric and non-woven wallpapers, high-quality collections as well as designer wallpapers from renowned manufacturers and product lines, for example, Rasch, Livingwalls or ESPRIT. Take a look around and let yourself be excited and inspired.
Depending on the wallpaper, the circles are colourful, black-and-white or in shades of grey. The colour combination naturally has a decisive influence on the effect of the pattern: black-and-white painting with points and circles can cause a very strict and dominant effect due to the strong contrast despite all the playfulness of the pattern. On the other hand, extravagant wallpapers with colourful circles always radiate playfulness.
Points or circles on the wallpaper can be arranged regularly, concentric, or eccentric. If the patterns overlap or move against each other, it can often create charming confusions for the eyes - The pattern seems to move or vibrate when you look at them from the corner of your eye, or even when you look directly at it. This effect is particularly striking in the case of 3D wallpapers - and is of course more intense, the larger and unobstructed the wallpapered surface is.
In the case of a wallpaper with a small-scale pattern, for example with tiny spots, the pattern can only be seen from close range. If you look at it from a distance, one can see a quiet and still vivid evenly coloured surface. This effect occurs because the eye combines two or more colours of the pattern to a mixed colour, if it is unable to distinguish the individual colour areas. Points are also very popular as a wallpaper pattern for the children’s room. The favourites among the colours are red and blue or light blue and pink.
If you do not want to decorate the whole room with retro wallpapers, you can instead opt for a photo wallpaper in retro style. Thus, you turn a wall or a part of it into a specifically charming eye-catcher. Make sure to match the pattern when hanging photo wallpapers that consist of various parts, so that the transitions won’t be visible later. And ask at least one other person for help. This way, you avoid mishaps, when you need more than two hands at one go - for example when transporting and holding up a pasted strip of wallpaper or for accurately placing and pressing the wallpaper on the wall.
